Here's a carry-along Baby checklist to help you organize all the essentials you need before bringing home your baby. It is a
general guide of products that will help you get prepared. Individualize it according to your lifestyle, your budget, where you
live, and the time of year your baby will arrive.

2-6 crib sheets (Cotton or Flannel)
1-2 waterproof mattress pads
3-4 waterproof lap pads
2-6 bassinet sheets (if necessary)
1-2 crib-size blankets
3-4 receiving blankets (if breastfeeding get a few extra large ones to provide privacy while nursing)
2-4 hooded bath towels
Clothes Hamper
Bumper pads
Mobile
If you're breastfeeding exclusively:
2 baby bottles with newborn nipple unit (for water or emergency supplements)
Storage Bags
Breast Pads
Breast Shields
Nursing Pillow and/or Stool
Breast pump
If you're bottle feeding exclusively or partially:
10-12 larger bottles (8oz) and 4 smaller bottles (4oz) with newborn nipple units
Two-week supply of formula, as recommended by your baby's pediatrician
Bottle Sterilizer
Infant Spoons
Spill Proof Cup
2-4 washable bibs
Baby nail clippers
Baby brush and comb
Calibrated medicine spoon or dropper
Tweezers
Infant nasal aspirator
Vaporizer or humidifier
Thermometer (rectal or tympanic)
Baby wipes and warmer
6-8 wash cloths
Baby Powder
Shampoo, Lotion and Wash
2-3 Pacifiers
Baby bath tub or foam bathing aid
Use one or a combination of the following:
Diaper Service
Four Dozen (48) Cloth Diapers
Six Dozen disposables, newborn size (about a one week supply)
3-6 waterproof pants, diaper covers or wraps to use with cloth diapers
12 extra cloth diapers for miscellaneous uses, including burping your baby and clean ups.
3-7 undershirts that fasten in front for easy dressing
4-6 sleepers
4-5 booties or snug-socks (get the kind that won't get kicked off).
1-3 sweaters (seasonally appropriate)
1 dress-up outfit (bring your baby home from the hospital in this)
1 snowbag for a winter baby
1 lightweight, brimmed hat for a summer baby
