Is this year your baby's first Christmas? Make it memorable with a few ideas from USA Baby & Big Kids Too! Nashville!
Christmas is coming soon, fast on the tails of Thanksgiving this year! Are you ready? If you’ve got a little one who has arrived in the past year, you’re probably wanting to make it a memorable Christmas for your family. And if it’s your first child, now is a great time to start family Christmas traditions that will last for many years to come. We’ve compiled some of our favorite ideas to make this an unforgettable baby's first Christmas:
- Send out a family Christmas card. If you’ve never been one for sending out cards before,
now is a great time to start! And if you haven’t gotten around to sending out a birth announcement, you could even combine your Christmas card and announcement! If you’re looking for the perfect “first Christmas” outfit for photos, look no further than USA Baby! We’ve got several adorable outfits that will be great for family photos or a first picture with Santa!
- Speaking of Santa, even if your baby won’t be giving Santa a wish list this Christmas, be sure to take him or her for a photo! You’ll love looking back through the years at a timeline of Santa photos, even if your kids aren’t happy to be sitting on his lap every year. USA Baby also carries “first Christmas” picture frames that are perfect for holding that very first Santa photo.
- Your baby's first Christmas is the perfect time to start a tradition of buying your child an ornament each year and labeling with their name and year. When they’ve grown up and are putting up their own Christmas tree, you’ll be able to present them with a box of their ornaments throughout their childhood. For their first Christmas, you could even create a simple salt dough mixture (4 cups flour, 1 cup salt, 1 ½ cups warm water), roll and cut out with a circle shape and imprint their hand or foot into it. Bake at 250 for 2-3 hours, paint with acrylic paint, write their name and birthdate on the back and hang on your tree!
- And don’t forget their first stocking! If you will want future children to have coordinating stockings, consider purchasing several of the same style in case they are unavailable in the years to come.
